Geek Tip: - Once used by older versions of Windows to provide a more complete shortcut with information needed to run an application, PIF files are generally only used in the modern era to spread a virus. Always remember that you should never open one, even if the email appears to come from a trusted source. This is because most virus writers use your address book to identify the sender, specifically to trick you into opening the attachment.

what's sad is to stumble on to geek news like this, get all excited about it, to the point where you are frantically scrolling up and down the page, looking for that weird little RSS symbol, a downward radar wave? so you can re-up and keep feeding that slightly adderal-ed little back lobe , the one that thought the best way to to contain your problem was to clarify and limit your esoteric web practices and vagrancies by plugging into the best delivery system on the internet for 100% concentrate, boiled, squished, canned and frozen yesterday, OJ this morning, only to realize that the news is actually from 2 years ago, well outdated for a person that gets RSS feed based anxiety, yet still compelling enough to read... and to do all this you had to get a new name and password and, an issue you thought was noteworthy enough to warrant the creation of this post, alas on to read stale geek news and stick another tangent into my arm
